Beach Dunes on Lake Michigan

The sun was strong as I walked across the beach dunes and prairie grass, the sand hot underfoot and the breeze carrying a hint of sweetness. In the distance, Lake Michigan shimmered in the light, drawing me toward it. The tall yellow grass swayed gently, and the dunes rose and fell in soft curves, casting shadows on the sand. When I reached the top of a dune, I paused to take in the view: the lake stretched endlessly ahead, families played and laughed along the shoreline, and the grasslands rolled out on either side. For a moment, everything felt right—I was reminded to slow down, appreciate simple things, and be grateful for where I was.
